Charles B. Watson became interested in woodturning after participating
in a furniture-making class and attending Rude Osolnik turning
workshops. Charles is a founding member of the Palmetto Woodturners in
South Carolina, as well as a member of the Carolina Mountain Woodturners in
Asheville, NC; the American Association of Woodturners; and the Southern
States Symposium committee. He has attended, assisted, and taught
woodturning classes at the John C. Campbell Folk School and has been an assistant
instructor at Arrowmont. His primary interest is in turning decorative
bowls from wood local to the Carolinas.
Charles was born in Horry County, SC, and now resides in Cayce, SC, where he has his studio.
